GOVENDGHAT-GHANGARIA-BHYUNDAR VALLEY-HENKUND GOVINDGHAT
DAY 1: GOVINDGHAT-GHANGARIA ( 4-5 hours)
Govindghat (1,828m) , take the right bank of Alakananda, The ascent begins.Rightafter crossing Govindghat. Follow the trail of the lakshman Ganga, soon the trail becomes wider and forested with occasional glimpses of snow peaks and of the cascading waters that feed the Alaknanda. Shortly after Bhyundar, the trail crosses the laxman ganga, over a bridge elevated by giant boulders. Trek 3 more km through steep trail to Ghangaria (3,050m). Stay in basic hotel or trekkers hut.
DAY 2: GHANGARIA-BHYUNDAR VALLEY-GHANGARIA ( 7-8 hours)
Leave Ghangaria, Take the trail on the north-west. The trails is well marked, and is a delightful ramble as it climbs gently through a coniferous forest, before dropping down to a bridge, the check-post is the mark of the official beginning of the valley of flowers (Bhyundar Valley, 3,858m). Climb up a rocky trail. The exquisite valley unveilsand the flowers begin to appear. Return to Gangaria, Overnight stay.
DAY 3: GHANGARIA-HEMKUND-GHANGARIA ( 7-8 hours)
Cross the bridge over the Hem Ganga once again head east up the heavily trafficked path. It is a challenging ascent though the heavily trafficked road by the pilgrims. After a steep climb reach the glacial lake (4,329m), return to Gangaria, overnight stay.
DAY 4: GHANGARIA-GOVINDGHAT ( 4-5 HOURS)
Return the same way.
